The Acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Professor Rasaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, has emphasized the importance of respecting the institution's rules and regulations to newly admitted students.

During the orientation exercise held at LAUTECH's Great Hall, Professor Kalilu, represented by the Chairman of the Committee of Provosts and Deans, Professor Tunde Ogunkunle, cautioned the students against disregarding the university's laws. He emphasized that the university management is committed to enforcing appropriate sanctions against any student found violating these regulations, with the aim of promoting discipline and decorum among the student body.

The orientation programme, which precedes the matriculation ceremony, serves to familiarize newly admitted students with the institution's policies and guidelines. According to LAUTECH's Public Relations Officer, Mr. Lekan Fadeyi, the objective is to ensure that students understand and adhere to the rules to avoid jeopardizing their academic pursuits.

Professor Kalilu encouraged the new students to take advantage of the conducive academic environment and quality educational facilities provided by LAUTECH for their personal development and academic advancement.

Among the speakers at the orientation programme were the University Registrar, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, and other dignitaries including the representative of the Bursar, Dean of Students Affairs, University Chairperson, members of the orientation committee, and the Director of LAUTECH Information and Communication Technology Centre, Professor Stephen Olatunde Olabiyisi.

The first day of the orientation programme saw lectures suspended to allow students to fully engage in the orientation activities and familiarize themselves with the institution's ethos and expectations.
