LAUTECH Medical School Wins NIMSA South-West Regional Debate Competition

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has emerged champion of the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NIMSA) South-West Regional Debate Competition, held at Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) on October 24, 2025.

Representing LAUTECH, Olasunkanmi Oyewusi (400 Level) and Olubori Faizat (300 Level), members of the LAUTECH Medical Students Literary and Debating Society, demonstrated exceptional reasoning, persuasive oratory, and composure under pressure, outshining 16 other medical schools from across the region.

The victory highlights LAUTECH’s commitment to fostering intellectual excellence and critical thinking among its students, complementing their rigorous scientific training with strong skills in public discourse. The university community has lauded the debaters for their outstanding performance and for elevating the institution’s reputation in regional academic competitions.
