LAUTECH’s Team Triumph Secures First Runner-Up at National AI and Digital Music Economy Hackathon
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has emerged first runner-up at the National AI and Digital Music Economy Hackathon, held from 10th to 16th November 2025 in Abuja. The team received a ₦1.8 million cash prize for their innovative project.

Organized by Blue Sapphire Hub in collaboration with the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) and the National Council for Arts and Culture, the hackathon challenged participants to develop solutions leveraging AI for the creative industry.

The LAUTECH team developed “Oryon,” an AI-powered platform that centralizes music distribution and tracks real-time performance across streaming platforms. The system is designed to help government agencies minimize revenue leakage and improve efficiency in the creative industry.
Team members include Amoo Taiwo (Mechanical Engineering), Bello Abdullahi (Electronic and Electrical Engineering), Emmanuel Lafenwa (Mechanical Engineering), and Azeez Fatiha (Computer Science). The project was mentored by Professor Tesleem Asafa, Director of Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST) at LAUTECH.
This accomplishment underscores LAUTECH’s commitment to fostering innovation, nurturing talent, and advancing technological solutions in Nigeria’s creative and digital sectors.
