Law Student Appeals for N40 Million to Undergo Kidney Transplant

Mbachu Anderson Chukwudera, a 24-year-old Nigerian Law School student, is seeking N40 million to undergo a life-saving kidney transplant. Chukwudera has been diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease and currently undergoes dialysis three times a week.

Formerly a student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, his deteriorating health forced him to pause his studies at the Nigerian Law School.

A medical report from Zenith Medical and Kidney Centre in Abuja confirms he is suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) due to focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a condition confirmed through a kidney biopsy.

His doctors have recommended a transplant as the best chance for a better quality of life. Following the procedure, he will need to be on lifelong immunosuppressive therapy.

“My education and future are on hold,” said Chukwudera.

“Any support, no matter how small, brings me closer to the transplant that could give me a second chance at life.” The estimated cost for the surgery and aftercare is N40 million.
