McPherson University Community Celebrates Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan, at 61
McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, witnessed a colourful celebration as staff, students, and members of the Staff School community gathered to honour the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan, on the occasion of his 61st birthday.

The campus celebration brought together academic and non-academic staff, university students, as well as staff and pupils of the McPherson University Staff School, creating a vibrant atmosphere of appreciation and gratitude. The event was held in recognition of the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership and contributions to the growth and steady transformation of the institution.
Delivering a goodwill message, the Acting Registrar, Mr. Olufemi Adebowale, described Prof. Igbasan as a people-focused leader with a consistent commitment to human and institutional development. He noted that the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership style is rooted in empowerment and service.
The University Librarian, Dr. Jerome Idiengbyen-Ose, also paid glowing tribute to the celebrant, expressing deep appreciation for his leadership influence. He described his experience at McPherson University as fulfilling and affirmed that joining the institution under Prof. Igbasan’s administration remains one of his best professional decisions.

Dr. Idiengbyen-Ose further described the Vice-Chancellor as an instrument in God’s hands, whose leadership has brought about visible transformation across academic, administrative, and infrastructural sectors of the University.
The University Chaplain, Rev. Ibiwunmi Alo, led a special session of prayers, committing the Vice-Chancellor to God and praying for renewed strength, wisdom, and continued divine guidance in his service to the institution.
In his response, Prof. Igbasan expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for His sustaining grace, describing his life and career journey as a testimony of divine intervention. He acknowledged that those familiar with his background understand the depth of challenges he has overcome through God’s help.

The Vice-Chancellor also thanked the entire McPherson University community for their support, unity, and shared commitment to progress, stressing that the achievements recorded under his leadership are products of collective effort and a shared institutional vision.
