McPherson University to Induct First Nursing Graduates
McPherson University in Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, will hold its first nursing graduates' induction ceremony on July 31, 2024.
McPherson University is set to celebrate a significant milestone with the inaugural induction of its first set of nursing graduates on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The ceremony will take place at the university's Multipurpose Hall and is anticipated to attract key stakeholders from the education sector, including the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

The event will feature a keynote address by Dr. Dorothy Odetola from the Department of Community Health Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. Dr. Odetola's paper, titled “Advancing Frontiers in Nursing Education and Practice: Effect of Japa Syndrome on Sub-Saharan Africa,” will explore current trends and challenges in nursing education.
Alhaji (Dr.) Faruk Abubakar, Registrar of the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria, is expected to attend the ceremony, where the new graduates will be formally inducted as Registered Nurses (RN). This occasion marks a significant achievement for McPherson University, as the first cohort of nursing graduates has recently excelled in the Nursing Council Examination.
