McPherson University has commissioned a 300-bed male hostel and a 500-capacity lecture theatre, signaling a strategic push to scale infrastructure and improve teaching delivery amid rising student enrolment.

The projects were inaugurated on April 20, 2026, with the Vice-Chancellor, Francis Adegbaye Igbasan, stating that the developments directly address accommodation pressure and the need for modern, high-capacity learning spaces. He noted that the hostel is designed to promote structured living and student welfare, while the lecture theatre is built to support interactive, technology-enabled instruction.
The facilities were commissioned by the Visitor to the University and General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Sam Aboyeji, underscoring continued institutional backing from the church.
Providing project details, Christopher Adebayo Alabi, Chairman of Caronc Engineering and Construction Ltd, disclosed that the hostel was delivered under a Build-Operate-Transfer model, structured to ensure sustainability and long-term value.
The university also credited donor support, particularly from the Parents’ Consultative Forum, which contributed a 110-inch smart board to enhance digital learning within the lecture theatre.

Management described the commissioning as part of a broader infrastructure roadmap aimed at strengthening competitiveness, improving student experience, and aligning the institution with evolving standards in higher education.
