The Minister of Environment, Hon. Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has commenced the construction of a modern drainage system at the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ). The project is also set to extend to the university’s surrounding areas to address flooding and water-logging concerns.
Earlier today, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of FUEZ, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, alongside senior university officials, conducted a thorough assessment of the designated areas for the drainage system. The team examined various locations within and outside the campus that would benefit from the initiative.
The infrastructure project aims to enhance water management within the university and improve environmental conditions in the broader Zaria community. It aligns with the Minister’s commitment to promoting sustainable environmental solutions and ensuring a healthier, cleaner ecosystem.
The construction of the drainage system is expected to provide long-term benefits, including reducing the risk of flooding, improving road conditions, and creating a safer environment for students, staff, and residents in the surrounding areas.
