The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), in partnership with the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF), has announced the commencement of the Graduate Agripreneur Project (Cohort 2).

MOUAU Launches Graduate Agripreneur Project (Cohort 2) with ₦1.5M Grants for Selected Agriculture Graduates

The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), in partnership with the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF), has announced the commencement of the Graduate Agripreneur Project (Cohort 2).

The initiative aims to empower graduates to turn agricultural expertise into sustainable business ventures.

Grant Details:

  • Four (4) selected graduates will each receive ₦1.5 million to fund their agricultural projects.
  • Total grant pool for this cohort: ₦6 million.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduate of Agriculture from MOUAU (CCSS, CASAP, CNREM, or CAERSE).
  • Must have completed NYSC.
  • Age 21–35 years, and graduation within the last 5 years.
  • Commitment to establish the agribusiness on campus during the program.
  • Prior entrepreneurial experience in agriculture and independent market access.
  • Registered business or willingness to register before fund disbursement.
  • Willingness to provide technical training to students on Farm Practical Year Training Programs (FPYTP).

Project Proposal Requirements:

  • Focus on Poultry, Livestock, or Aquaculture production.
  • Demonstrate relevance to current socio-economic conditions.
  • Evidence of production or value-addition experience.
  • Detailed work plan with activity-based timeline.
  • Comprehensive budget breakdown.
  • Marketability strategy and long-term sustainability plan.

  • Late or non-compliant submissions will be rejected.

This initiative offers a strategic platform for young agripreneurs to scale their businesses while contributing to agricultural innovation and mentorship within MOUAU.
