NABTEB Extend The 2026 NCEE Registration Deadline To May 31 And Shifted The Examination Date to June 13 2026
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has extended the registration deadline for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) to May 31, 2026, and shifted the examination date from June 6 to June 13. NABTEB said the extension followed appeals from candidates and stakeholders seeking more time to complete registration.
National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has extended the registration deadline for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into technical colleges across Nigeria, giving prospective candidates an extra week to complete their applications.
The Board also announced a new date for the examination, shifting it from June 6 to June 13, 2026.
The development was disclosed in a press statement issued on Sunday by Uchechukwu Olisah at the Board’s national headquarters in Benin City, Edo State.
According to the statement, registration for the examination, which was initially scheduled to close on May 24, will now remain open until midnight on May 31, 2026.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, explained that the extension became necessary following appeals from prospective candidates and other stakeholders who requested additional time to complete the registration process.

The statement noted that the approval for the extension was conveyed through an internal memorandum signed by the Director of Examinations Administration, Chigoziem Susan Metu.
“The extension of registration period for the NCEE is in response to popular demand by potential candidates who are urged to use this window of opportunity to register for the examination and conclude their registration formalities,” the statement read.
Dr. Mohammed further encouraged students interested in technical and vocational education to take advantage of the opportunity by enrolling for NABTEB examinations.
He added that candidates who are entrepreneurially inclined, as well as those seeking admission into higher institutions, stand to benefit from technical and vocational education pathways offered through NABTEB programmes.
The NCEE serves as the entrance examination for admission into technical colleges across the country and is designed to promote skills acquisition and vocational training among Nigerian students.
