NANS Seeks End to ASUU Strike at Nasarawa Varsity
The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has called on the Nasarawa State Government to intervene and settle outstanding arrears owed to lecturers in order to bring an end to the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, strike at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, NSUK.
In a statement, NANS urged the state government to expedite action on the payment of the outstanding entitlements, noting that the prolonged industrial action has continued to disrupt academic activities and negatively affect students.
The association stressed that students have borne the brunt of the strike, with their academic calendar, graduation timelines and learning outcomes being significantly delayed.

NANS appealed to all relevant stakeholders to prioritize dialogue and the welfare of students, and called for urgent steps to restore normal academic activities at the University.
The association reiterated its commitment to advocating for students’ interests and ensuring uninterrupted academic sessions in tertiary institutions across the country.
