Nasarawa State University Senate Approves Calendar for Third Semester 2024/2025 Session
The Senate of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has approved a new academic calendar for the Third Semester of the 2024/2025 academic session. The decision was reached at the 134th regular meeting of the Senate held on October 30, 2025.
According to the approved schedule, the Third Semester will run in two phases. The first phase begins with registration and revision from Monday, November 10 to Saturday, November 22, 2025, while examinations will hold from Monday, November 24 to Saturday, November 29, 2025.
The second phase will take place between Monday, January 5 and Saturday, January 17, 2026 for registration and revision, followed by examinations from Monday, January 19 to Saturday, January 24, 2026. Each phase covers two weeks for registration and revision and one week for examinations.
In a statement signed by the Coordinator of the Third Semester Programme, Dr. Muhammad Mustapha, the university explained that the Third Semester is designed for students who fall under specific categories. These include those with carryover courses not exceeding 24 credit units combined, students who were unable to complete examinations due to ill-health or other valid reasons, those who missed examinations in any semester, and students who gained late admission and missed examinations.
Dr. Mustapha clarified that all eligible students are regarded as carryover cases, as the affected courses must have been previously registered. He stressed that dropped courses would not be entertained.
Eligible students are expected to pay N20,000 per course during registration, provided it is done within the approved timeline. He added that all registration, revision, examinations, and result uploads must be completed within the stipulated calendar.
The statement further noted that registration for the first Third Semester will commence immediately after the Second Semester examinations, while the second phase will begin after the release of results on the student portal.
Dr. Mustapha also emphasized that the Third Semester Programme is optional and open to students across all levels.
