NAUB Principal Officers Attend Modibbo Adama University’s Combined Convocation Ceremony

The Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) participated in the 29th and 30th Combined Convocation Ceremony of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, held on January 30 and 31, 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lawan Bala Buratai, alongside the Acting Registrar, Lt Col OS Job represented NAUB at the event, which brought together academia, administrators, and stakeholders for a celebration of academic excellence and intellectual engagement.

A key highlight of the convocation activities was the Convocation Lecture delivered on January 30, 2026, by Prof. Umaru A. Pate, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State, and Professor of Media and Society. The lecture, titled “Building Trust Amidst Conflict: Communication, Leadership, and the Promise of Peaceful Coexistence in Nigeria,” focused on the vital role of effective leadership and strategic communication in promoting unity and addressing Nigeria’s contemporary security and social challenges. Prof. Pate emphasized trust as a fundamental pillar for sustainable peace and national development.

Speaking after the lecture, the Acting Registrar of NAUB, Lt Col OS Job, described the session as highly engaging, insightful, and intellectually enriching, noting that it offered valuable perspectives on peacebuilding, transparent communication, and the responsibilities of academic and administrative leaders in fostering harmony within institutions and the wider society.

During the ceremony, the Acting Registrar conveyed NAUB’s warm congratulations to the Vice-Chancellor and the entire MAU community on the successful convocation, while also wishing him continued wisdom and success as he steers the administration of the institution. He noted that it was indeed an honour to be part of such a memorable academic celebration.
