Northwest University Kano Commences 2026 IJMB Mock Examinations
The Northwest University Kano has successfully commenced the 2026 Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Mock Examinations, which began promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, in line with the scheduled timetable.
The examinations are being conducted at the Murtala Muhammad Library Kano, a key academic facility of the University where the IJMB programme is currently hosted. The smooth take-off of the exercise reflects the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and effective coordination of preparatory assessments for students enrolled in the programme.
Speaking on the development, the Director of the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), Dr. Lawan Idris, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation. He emphasized that such collaboration remains vital to ensuring the success of the programme and achieving set academic goals.

This year’s mock examination marks a significant milestone, as it is the first IJMB exercise to be conducted under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, alongside Dr. Lawan Idris as Director of ICE. Their leadership has been described as instrumental in strengthening the University’s academic programmes and enhancing institutional performance.
Dr. Idris further expressed optimism that the exercise will set a strong foundation for the forthcoming IJMB examinations, noting that with sustained dedication, the University is poised to record remarkable success and make history.
The University community remains hopeful that the ongoing examinations will not only prepare students adequately but also reinforce Northwest University Kano’s growing reputation as a centre of academic excellence in Nigeria.
