Northwest University Kano to Honor Vice Chancellor Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa with Sent-Forth Ceremony

Northwest University Kano is set to bid farewell to its Vice Chancellor, Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, in a sent-forth ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

The ceremony aims to celebrate Professor Kurawa's meritorious service, good leadership, and invaluable contributions to the growth and transformation of the university .

The event invites all principal officers, deans, directors, heads of departments and units, as well as members of the university community, to attend and celebrate this memorable occasion. Those who wish to present goodwill messages are encouraged to come prepared to deliver them during the event.

Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa is a distinguished academic and administrator who has led Northwest University Kano to significant growth and development. During his tenure, the university has expanded from five to nine faculties, with plans for additional faculties underway. His leadership has also been marked by infrastructural development, academic excellence, and community engagement .

Professor Kurawa is a member of several professional bodies, including the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Chemical Society of Nigeria. He has also served on the Governing Board of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) since 2018.
