The Port Harcourt Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has been commended for the quality of student projects under the DES 303 Community Development Projects course.

The commendation came from Dr. William Emina, Coordinator of DES 303, during the opening of the DES 303 Mathematics Quiz Competition held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The event was organised by students led by Mr. Chidi Nwaeze, a final-year Computer Science student.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, Dr. Emina praised the Centre Director, Dr. Theresa Ettu, and students for their commitment to impactful projects. He described the Mathematics Quiz Competition as particularly exciting and emphasized that the high-quality projects at Port Harcourt Study Centre exemplify the intended goals of the DES 303 course.
