NSUK, LIYU College Sign MoU to Strengthen Health Sciences Education
Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LIYU College of Health Sciences and Technology, Keffi, to strengthen collaboration in health sciences education, research and institutional development.

The agreement was signed on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Vice-Chancellor's Conference Room during a ceremony presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, Sa'adatu Hassan Liman.
The partnership is expected to enhance cooperation in:
- Health sciences education.
- Research.
- Quality assurance.
- Staff development.
- Accreditation.
- Institutional capacity building.
- Academic exchange.
- Professional advancement.
Welcoming the delegation from LIYU College, Professor Liman described the partnership as a strategic investment in the future of healthcare education and human capital development.
She reaffirmed the university's commitment to building collaborations that strengthen teaching, research, innovation and community service.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the MoU will facilitate:
- Sharing of laboratories, specialised equipment and other academic facilities.
- Staff exchange programmes.
- Collaborative research.
- Expanded opportunities for qualified graduates of LIYU College to further their education at NSUK.
Professor Liman also stressed the need for universities and other tertiary institutions to work together in addressing emerging educational and healthcare challenges through collaboration rather than competition.
She called for sustained cooperation between both institutions to advance the socio-economic development of Keffi, Nasarawa State and Nigeria, noting that partnerships are essential to building globally competitive institutions.
Leader of the LIYU College delegation, Isma'il Suleiman, said the visit was aimed at formalising the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.
He commended Professor Liman for her leadership, support and contributions to the growth of LIYU College and the development of the Keffi community.
According to Dr. Suleiman, the agreement will strengthen cooperation in quality health sciences education, accreditation, quality assurance and staff welfare while providing a solid framework for long-term academic collaboration.
The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by representatives of both institutions. Professor Liman also presented souvenirs to the visiting delegation as a mark of appreciation, while both institutions pledged to implement programmes under the agreement for the benefit of students, staff and society.

NSUK said the latest partnership reflects its commitment to expanding strategic collaborations that enhance academic excellence, research, innovation and community engagement while strengthening its position as a globally competitive institution.
