NSUK Vice-Chancellor Receives TETFund North-Central Delegation, Pitches Priority Areas for Intervention

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, NSUK, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, on Monday, August 24, 2026, received a high-powered delegation of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, North-Central Zone, where she highlighted strategic areas requiring further intervention to strengthen infrastructure, security and academic development.

The delegation, led by the Head of the TETFund Board of Trustees, North-Central Zone, Dr. Hassan Abdulharam Ocholi, was at the University to assess existing facilities and identify areas where TETFund could provide additional support towards sustainable institutional development and the enhancement of teaching and learning.

Welcoming the delegation, Professor Liman expressed appreciation to TETFund for its sustained commitment to the development of tertiary education in Nigeria and for its continued partnership with Nasarawa State University.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that TETFund interventions have remained instrumental to the growth of universities across the country. She stressed that NSUK, despite its remarkable strides and achievements, still requires strategic infrastructural support to meet emerging institutional needs.

Professor Liman particularly identified the fencing of the University’s main campus as a priority. She said such an intervention would strengthen security and contribute significantly to creating a safer and more conducive environment for students, staff and other members of the University community.

She also appealed for TETFund support for the construction of additional facilities to accommodate newly introduced academic programmes, as well as the provision and upgrading of laboratory facilities and equipment required to enhance practical teaching, research and innovation.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the growing academic portfolio and expanding responsibilities of the University make continuous investment in infrastructure and modern facilities imperative.

Professor Liman expressed optimism that the assessment visit would provide an opportunity for TETFund to gain first-hand knowledge of the University's priority needs and translate the findings into meaningful interventions that would further advance NSUK's development agenda. She assured the delegation of the University's full cooperation throughout the exercise.

Responding, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Hassan Abdulharam Ocholi, commended Professor Liman and the management of Nasarawa State University for the progress recorded in advancing the institution.

He also acknowledged the continued support of the Federal Government to TETFund, noting that the Fund remains committed to strengthening tertiary institutions through strategic interventions in infrastructure, academic development and other areas of institutional need.

Dr. Ocholi reaffirmed TETFund's commitment to supporting universities and promoting sustainable development in the higher education sector. He assured the University that identified areas of need would be duly assessed within the framework of the Fund's intervention programmes.

The engagement culminated in the presentation of a souvenir to the visiting delegation by the University Management, followed by a group photograph.
