NYSC Director General Receives 2024 Icon Of Human Rights Award

NYSC Director General Receives 2024 Icon Of Human Rights Award

The Human Rights Writers' Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), has awarded the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the 2024 Icon of Human Rights.

During the award presentation at the National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, the National Coordinator of HURIWA, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko commended the leadership qualities of General Ahmed, describing him as a good ambassador.

The National Coordinator applauded the General with regards to the recent expansion of the Scheme and also NYSC's resistance against the mobilization of unqualified graduates for national service. He further urged him to strive more in order to take the Scheme to greater heights.

Comrade Onwubiko also solicited for more public support for the NYSC through well-meaning individuals, non-governmental organisations among others.

In his response, Brigadier General YD Ahmed appreciated the association for the honour bestowed on him and promised to discharge his statutory responsibilities to the best of his ability.
