President Tinubu Appoints New Governing Council Members for Three Federal Universities

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new members to the governing councils of the University of Abuja, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (NAU).
The newly appointed members for the University of Abuja are Professor Rosemary Iriowen Egonmwan, Dr. Adedeji Adefuye, Professor Sarki Abba Abdulkadir, and Professor Aminu Mohammed Dukku.
For UNN, the new council members are Rt. Hon. Barrister Ogbonna Eugene Odo and Muhammad Inuwa Tahir. NAU's new council members are Dr. Nkem Okeke, Ofoke Chukwuma Charles Ugbala, Dame Amina Patrick Yakowa, and Nojeeb Oriola Agunbiade.
The appointments follow the dissolution of the University of Abuja's governing council in February 2025 and the removal of its Vice-Chancellor. The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja has expressed gratitude to the President for the full constitution of the university's council and reaffirmed her commitment to working with the council to advance the university's goals and vision.
