Prof. Eboh Inaugurates Expanded UNIDEL Management Team, Urges Teamwork and Innovation

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta, Agbor, UNIDEL, Professor Eric Eboh, has inaugurated the institution’s expanded management team, charging its members to embrace sacrifice, teamwork and innovation in the collective drive to reposition the university for greater academic and administrative excellence.

The expanded management team was inaugurated on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the 1,000 Capacity Hall. It comprises the Acting Provost of the College of Medicine, Professor Alexander Naiho, newly appointed and reappointed Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and Chairmen of University Committees.

The inauguration marked a significant step in the administration’s effort to strengthen leadership, deepen institutional collaboration and advance the objectives of Project RAISE UNIDEL.

Addressing the newly inaugurated officers, Professor Eboh congratulated them on their appointments and described them as critical members of the Project RAISE UNIDEL crew, stressing that their new responsibilities demanded commitment, productivity and a shared vision for the institution.

According to him, "We now have a new mandate: RAISE UNIDEL higher." The Vice-Chancellor urged the team members to see their appointments not merely as positions of authority but as calls to service and responsibility.

Professor Eboh emphasised the need for teamwork, collaboration and institutional synergy, urging the management team to become solution providers rather than merely identifying challenges.

"We want teamwork, collaboration and synergy. Be solution providers as partners and colleagues in progress," he added.

The inauguration subsequently evolved into a robust and interactive engagement, with participants deliberating on issues directly affecting academic standards, student welfare and institutional accountability.

The interactive session provided an opportunity for members of the expanded management team to raise concerns, exchange ideas and explore practical solutions to challenges confronting the university.

In his vote of thanks, the Acting Provost of the College of Medicine, Professor Alexander Naiho, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for the confidence reposed in the newly inaugurated team. He assured that the appointees would reciprocate the confidence by demonstrating commitment and making the necessary sacrifices to advance the university’s development agenda.

The event was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Ijeh, and the Registrar, Dr Esther Akpojuvie, among other members of the university community.
