Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, will host its 9th Inaugural Lecture on Friday, October 18th, 2024, to be presented by the renowned architect and scholar, Professor Oluwole Alagbe. The lecture, which will take place at the University Multipurpose Hall at 10:00 a.m., promises to be a landmark event for the institution, particularly as it marks the first inaugural lecture from the College of Environmental Sciences and Management.

Professor Alagbe, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA) and a Member of the European Centre for Research Training and Development, United Kingdom, is a leading expert in housing, indigenous building materials, and architectural education innovations. His distinguished academic career, which began at Covenant University, has spanned over 18 years, culminating in his promotion to full Professor in 2021 at Caleb University.

The Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, who will chair the event, emphasized the special significance of this lecture for both the university and the architectural community. "This being the first inaugural lecture from the College of Architecture carries special meaning for me and the entire institution," he noted.

Professor Alagbe’s remarkable contributions to architecture include more than 72 journal articles, 10 book chapters, and numerous conference presentations. His work, which integrates pedagogic innovations and indigenous knowledge, has influenced the field of architecture nationally and internationally. His lecture is expected to inspire and provide insightful perspectives on architectural education and practice in Nigeria.
