Ptil Madagali Leads Delegation to Governor Fintiri, Seeks Support for MAUTECH College of Medical Sciences
The Ptil Madagali, His Royal Highness Dr. Ali Danburam, on Monday, led a delegation on a courtesy call to the Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to seek the State Government’s support for the development of the College of Medical Sciences at Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola.
The Ptil, was accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, former Chief Medical Director of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Auwal Abubakar, the current Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adamu Bakari Girei, and other distinguished personalities.
The visit, was aimed at paying homage to the Governor, highlighting the achievements of the College since its establishment in 2021, and drawing attention to the challenges it faces where government intervention is needed.
Speaking during the visit, the Ptil Madagali, Dr. Ali Danburam, emphasized the importance of the College to the growth of the health sector in Adamawa, noting that stronger collaboration between the State Government and the University would go a long way in strengthening medical training and services.
Speaking further, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, highlighted some of the achievements recorded by the college and also stated the challenges, seeking a collaborative partnership with the state government.
Governor Fintiri, in his response, commended the foresight of the University in establishing the College of Medical Sciences and assured the delegation of his administration’s commitment to supporting the College to actualize its mandate of producing skilled medical professionals and improving healthcare delivery in the state and beyond.
