Redeemer’s University Secures NUC Approval for 10 New Undergraduate Programmes
Redeemer’s University, Ede, Nigeria, has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish 10 new full-time undergraduate programmes, expanding the institution’s academic offerings.

Redeemer’s University, Ede, Nigeria, has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish 10 new full-time undergraduate programmes, expanding the institution’s academic offerings.
The approval takes effect from the 2026/2027 academic session and followed a resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts constituted by the NUC to assess the human and material resources available for the proposed programmes.
In a letter signed by the Director, Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, the Commission conveyed its approval for Redeemer’s University to commence the programmes on its main campus.
The newly approved programmes are:
- B.Sc. Broadcasting
- B.Sc. Public Relations
- B.Sc. Advertising
- B.Sc. Information and Media Studies
- B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies
- B.A. Film Production
- B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies
- B.Sc. Biotechnology
- B.Sc. Software Engineering
- B.Sc. Information Systems
According to the NUC, the approval covers the full-time mode of study only.
Commenting on the development, the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Prof Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, described the approvals as another significant milestone in the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence and commitment to providing programmes that respond to emerging global trends, industry needs and the evolving demands of the knowledge economy.
He said the new programmes would provide prospective students with broader opportunities to pursue careers in dynamic and rapidly evolving fields.

With the addition of the 10 programmes, Redeemer’s University has further expanded its academic portfolio while maintaining its focus on academic excellence, relevant scholarship and the development of graduates equipped to make meaningful contributions to society and the global community.
