Scholarship Initiative Launched in Honor of Hajiya Safiya Na’Allah for AFIT Students

Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency and Chairman of the Committee on Banking Regulations, has announced the launch of a special scholarship initiative in honor of the late Hajiya Safiya Na’Allah, the beloved wife of Senator Bala Na’Allah. This marks the first time a scholarship initiative has been named after a woman, reflecting the deep respect and admiration held for Hajiya Safiya, whose husband is recognized as an astute public servant and an excellent pilot.

The scholarship, aimed at covering the tuition fees of students at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, was made possible by a sum of three million naira released by El-Rufai on August 5, 2024, to an ad hoc committee led by Aboubakar Sani Sabo from Sabon Kawo. This initiative is particularly notable as it is the first time a defense institution has been included in El-Rufai’s scholarship efforts. Previous scholarship beneficiaries include students from institutions such as KASU, KADPOLY, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, ABU, and Gidan Waya Kafanchan, as well as Dustin Ma University.
