SSUCOEN FCE Obudu Celebrates Retirees with Tributes and Cash Gifts

The Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN), Federal College of Education, Obudu Chapter, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, hosted a warm and celebratory event at the College Pavilion to honour its retirees with heartfelt tributes and tokens of appreciation for their years of dedicated service.

The Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN), Federal College of Education, Obudu Chapter, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, hosted a warm and celebratory event at the College Pavilion to honour its retirees with heartfelt tributes and tokens of appreciation for their years of dedicated service.

Representing the Union Chairman, Comrade Oyigoja Obojor, the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Juliana Odey, expressed gratitude to God for preserving the lives and health of the retirees as they transition into a new phase of life. She commended their unwavering commitment to duty and prayed for continued grace, good health, and fulfillment in their post-service years.

Speaking on behalf of the Union, Mr. Emmanuel Chukwuma Onwuoku, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations of the College, presented cash gifts to the retirees as a symbol of the Union’s appreciation for their service and loyalty.

One of the honourees, Mr. Godwin Kintum, reflected on his journey with pride, recalling his role as a pioneer executive of the Union during its days as the Senior Staff Association. A committed unionist from inception, Mr. Kintum expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, noting that the intention behind the act meant more than its material value. Drawing from his experience as a former Deputy Registrar in charge of the Pension Unit, he also offered valuable insights on life after service.

Another retiree, Mr. John Bisong, thanked the Union for the honour and prayed for its continuous growth, unity, and progress.

The event concluded with a group photograph, capturing the joyous atmosphere and marking a memorable farewell to the distinguished members of the College community.
