Stakeholders Appeal to FUW Management to Extend School Fees Payment Deadline for Less-Privileged Students
Stakeholders have appealed to the Management of Federal University Wukari, FUW, to consider an extension of the school fees payment deadline to accommodate less-privileged students facing financial challenges.
In a statement, the appeal emphasized that education is a fundamental right and should remain accessible to every deserving Nigerian, regardless of financial background.
It noted that many students are making genuine efforts to meet their obligations, but circumstances beyond their control have caused delays.
“Some sponsor themselves through small businesses or part-time work, while many parents and guardians rely on seasonal farming and cash crops for their income. These students are not refusing to pay, they simply need a little more time.”

The statement further warned that denying students the opportunity to continue their education due to temporary financial hardship would have lasting consequences for their future.
Management is therefore humbly urged to demonstrate compassion by granting an extension of the school fees payment deadline. Such a decision, it was stated, would reflect the university’s commitment to fairness, inclusion, and the success of all students.
“A great institution is measured not only by its academic excellence but also by its concern for the welfare of its students.
Let us ensure that financial hardship does not become a barrier to education. Give the less privileged a chance. Grant an extension and keep hope alive.”
The appeal calls on FUW Management to prioritize student welfare while maintaining the academic standards of the institution.
