Summit Radio has achieved a significant milestone, receiving a Short-term Restrictive Permit from the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), marking a major step towards the launch of its broadcasting operations.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu, welcomed the development and expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, particularly the National President, Prince Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem SAN FCArb, and the Deputy President, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Adebayo, for their pivotal role in facilitating the licence approval.

Professor Aibinu acknowledged the support of other key stakeholders, including the immediate past National President of ADSN, Aare (Dr.) Abdul Rafiu Ademola Sanni; the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Engr. Nurudeen Adeagbo; and the Chairman of the Governing Council, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti, as well as contributions from initiatives such as the AI for Females in STEMS (AI4FS) project funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK (RAENG), and the AI for Women in Aquaculture programme supported by the Gender for Responsive Artificial Intelligence Network (GRAIN).

The staff and students of the Mass Communication Department, along with the wider university community, have received the news with enthusiasm, as Summit Radio prepares to commence test transmissions and move closer to full operational status.
