Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) will host a Symposium on Indigenous Knowledge Systems, organized by the university’s Centre for Indigenous Knowledge Systems (KCIKS).

The event aims to bring together scholars, practitioners, students, and stakeholders to explore ways of promoting, preserving, and leveraging traditional knowledge for innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development.

The symposium is scheduled for Tuesday, 2nd December 2025, at 10:00 a.m., and will hold at the Alh. Dr. Alhassan Dantata Auditorium on campus. The theme of the event is “Promoting Traditional Knowledge Systems in Kano for Innovation and Economic Growth.”

Bilal Dahiru Tijjani, Acting Director of Corporate Affairs and Marketing at KHAIRUN, emphasized that the university welcomes the active participation of all attendees as it seeks to advance indigenous knowledge in both academic and practical contexts.
