Taraba State University Hosts SERVICOM Training and Induction Ceremony
Taraba State University (TSU) recently hosted a training, inauguration, and induction ceremony for members of the Servicom unit, led by National Coordinator and CEO, Mrs. Nnena Akajemli.
The event, held at the university's campus, was attended by top management officials, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Dr. Reuben Jonathan, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako. Other dignitaries present included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Dr. Ahmed Baba, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (University Development), Prof. Mahmud Hamidu Umar, Registrar, Joseph Bibinu, and Director of Servicom, Dr. Danjuma.
In his welcome address, Dr. Jonathan emphasized the importance of effective service delivery, stating that it is a two-way traffic that requires both staff and students to be well-served.
Mrs. Akajemli, in her remarks, commended the Vice-Chancellor for his commitment to establishing a functional Servicom unit, the first among all state universities in the country. She acknowledged TSU as the fastest-growing university in Nigeria and attributed its growth to the Vice-Chancellor's leadership.
The Registrar, Joseph Bibinu, recalled the university's history and acknowledged the contributions of former governors, Rev. Jolly Nyame and Pharmacist Danbaba D. Suntai, to its establishment. He announced plans to introduce a new course in Computing and Artificial Intelligence, in line with current technological trends.
The event highlighted the importance of effective service delivery in widening accessibility to university education, in line with the Federal Government's objectives. Mrs. Akajemli encouraged the Vice-Chancellor and management to continue their efforts towards achieving this goal.
