TAU Launches Maiden Faculty Seminar Series to Strengthen Research and Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Thomas Adewumi University, Oko-Irese, Kwara State, has hosted its inaugural Faculty Seminar Series, reinforcing efforts to deepen research culture, interdisciplinary dialogue, and academic innovation across the institution.

The seminar, organised by the Directorate of Research, Innovations and Product Development (DRIPDEV), brought together faculty members from different disciplines for structured intellectual engagement and knowledge exchange.

A key highlight of the session was a presentation by the Head of the Department of Languages, Mr. Adetunji O. Adelokun, who delivered a paper titled “The Poetics of Care and the Politics of Health.” The presentation explored the intersection between literature, healthcare systems, and broader societal dynamics, emphasizing how humanities-based perspectives can inform health discourse and policy thinking.

The session was positioned as part of a broader institutional strategy to break disciplinary silos and promote collaborative problem-solving within the university ecosystem.

Management of Thomas Adewumi University stated that the initiative aligns with its long-term academic roadmap focused on research intensity, innovation-driven teaching, and practical knowledge production.

According to the organisers, the seminar series is expected to become a recurring platform for faculty engagement, aimed at strengthening intellectual output and encouraging cross-disciplinary research that addresses real-world challenges.
