The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua (UAT), Professor Solomon Ebobrah, received a delegation from the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) at his office on the Toru-Orua campus.

The NASU team, led by Comrade Emma Okonkwor, Senior Deputy General Secretary, and accompanied by Comrade Samson Enonmhobor, Senior Assistant General Secretary, and other state executives, visited to condole with the University Management over the loss of Mr. Joseph Ebrudu, the late UAT branch chairman, who passed on September 18, 2025, at the age of 47. They emphasized that despite the loss, the legacy of the late chairman would continue, and the UAT NASU Chapter was inaugurating a new chairman to fill the vacancy.
In his remarks, Professor Ebobrah appreciated the delegation’s visit and praised the late chairman for his openness to dialogue. He noted that NASU at UAT has maintained a collaborative relationship with University Management and encouraged the incoming executives to continue resolving matters through dialogue. The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted that, though UAT is not a very large institution, it prides itself on accommodating every staff member and fostering a family-like environment.
Following the visitation, the NASU National Executives supervised the nomination and swearing-in of new chapter officers. Comrade Fresh Oyobolo was inaugurated as the UAT NASU Chapter Chairman, while Comrade Awake George and Comrade Doubra Moses were sworn in as Secretary and Ex-Officio members, respectively. All nominees were unopposed.
