Speaking at the orientation ceremony, Programme Manager Professor Hauwa Imam highlighted that the World Bank-assisted training is designed to provide participants with practical skills in fisheries to stimulate economic growth. She encouraged trainees to fully leverage the opportunity for personal and professional development.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi formally declared the programme open, noting that it aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to hands-on learning, entrepreneurship, and national development. He reassured participants of the University’s ongoing support for the initiative.
