The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Associated Institutions (NASU-UCB) and the Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing employee capacity.

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Associated Institutions (NASU-UCB) and the Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing employee capacity.

Speaking at the Unical International Conference Centre during a two-day intensive training workshop on "Sharpening Staff Work Capital Upgrade in the University System", Chairperson of NASU-UCB, Comrade Victoria Orok welcomed participants and  commended their cooperation, which was evident in the large turnout.

She reiterated her pledge to promote and develop the socio-economic well-being of union members.

The historic workshop aims to elevate members' status, boost their efficiency in service delivery, and prepare  them for career advancement and breakthroughs.

Comrade Asuquo expressed gratitude to the selected resource persons for sharing their expertise and urged members to take the workshop seriously, demonstrating marked improvements in their duties.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Florence Banku Obi, represented by the University Registrar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe, commended the NASU-UCB Executive for organizing the workshop.

She stressed the importance of training the workforce and encouraged participants to be attentive, as the knowledge gained will help them excel in any Nigerian university.

The Director of Administration, Vice Chancellor's Office, Dr. Citizens Ekpo, representing the Registrar, also commended the NASU-UCB leadership for organizing the workshop and charged participants to fully engage and acquire new knowledge.

The Director of CTLE, Prof. Usang Usang Bassey, thanked the NASU-UCB Executive for the collaboration, describing it as a new era of university collaboration.

Prof. Bassey said the centre is poised to build the capacity of staff, which he said, will culminate to increased productivity.

He assured  that the centre is open for more collaborations and promised to ensure the certificate awarded is of high value.

The workshop featured lectures from experienced administrators, including:- the University Registrar, Mr.Gabriel O. Egbe, Director, of the Directorate of Academic Affairs, and Pastor Gabriel O. Osang, Barr. Emmanuel J. Uddor (Retired), Deputy Bursar, Mrs. Utibe Bassey Director of Works, Mr. Joseph Alaga, Chief Security Officer, Capt. A.O. Bisong (Rtd)
