UNICROSS Directs NELFUND Loan Beneficiaries to Verify Payments and Collect School Fee Receipts
The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has issued a directive to students who benefited from the Federal Government NELFUND Loan Scheme to immediately complete their loan verification and collect their official school fee payment receipts.
The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has issued a directive to students who benefited from the Federal Government NELFUND Loan Scheme to immediately complete their loan verification and collect their official school fee payment receipts.
The instruction was contained in an internal circular dated January 9, 2026, and signed by the University Bursar, Mr. Wilson Anyiom, MSc, CCA.
According to the circular, a number of students’ NELFUND loan applications have already been approved and funds disbursed to the University. However, Management observed that many beneficiaries are either unaware that their loans have been approved or do not know the proper steps to verify their status and obtain their school fee receipts.
To resolve this, all affected students have been directed to report to the ICT Unit of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) to verify their loan status and collect their official school fees receipts.

The University stressed that only students who complete this verification and documentation process will have their loan disbursement recognised and their names included on the official list of students who have paid their school fees.
Students who fail to comply risk having their loan payments remain unvalidated, which could affect their registration status.
All NELFUND beneficiaries are therefore advised to act promptly and ensure full compliance with the directive.
