UNIDEL Celebrates Pioneer Registrar, Barr. Richmond Omagbemi, in Grand Send-Off

 The University of Delta (UNIDEL) community gathered in a vibrant display of appreciation on Thursday, April 30, 2026, to honour its pioneer Registrar, Barr. Richmond Omagbemi, as he officially concludes his distinguished tenure.

The celebratory event, held at the Golden Cocktail Hotel in Agbor, was coordinated by Dr. Friday Akporherhe and attended by the upper echelon of the university’s leadership, including the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eric Eboh, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Ijeh.

The atmosphere was filled with emotional tributes as colleagues and associates took turns to deliver encomiums. Speakers highlighted Barr. Omagbemi’s pivotal role in establishing the university’s administrative foundation, describing him as a principled leader whose impact resonated across all levels of the institution.

The ceremony, which featured musical interludes and a formal reception, served as a symbolic passing of the torch to the new administration while cementing Barr. Omagbemi’s place in the history of the University of Delta.
