University of Jos has scheduled its 122nd Professorial Inaugural Lecture, with a focus on drought management and its implications for national food security.
The lecture will be delivered by Nankap Latur Binbol of the Department of Geography and Planning, under the theme “Understanding Droughts: A Panacea for National Food Security.”
The event is slated for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Aliyu Akwe Doma Theatre, Faculty of Arts, Naraguta Campus, with proceedings scheduled to commence at 2:00 p.m. Attendees are expected to be seated by 1:30 p.m.
The lecture is expected to provide critical insights into drought patterns, environmental sustainability, and policy-driven approaches to strengthening Nigeria’s food systems, reinforcing the university’s role in advancing research-driven solutions to national challenges.
