UNIMAID Student Shines in National NUPEMCO Quiz Competition
A student of the University of Maiduguri, Amina Bello from the Department of Zoology, has emerged third in the NUPEMCO National Quiz Competition, which featured participants from universities across Nigeria.
A student of the University of Maiduguri, Amina Bello from the Department of Zoology, has emerged third in the NUPEMCO National Quiz Competition, which featured participants from universities across Nigeria.

In recognition of her outstanding performance, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, received Amina at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Professor Mele congratulated her for the remarkable feat and encouraged her to continue striving for excellence while representing the University at both national and international levels. He also commended the Head of Department and lecturers of Zoology for their commitment to student development and reaffirmed the University’s readiness to sustain its partnership with NUPEMCO in promoting academic excellence.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Abubakar Mohammed, Team Lead of NUPEMCO, alongside the Head of Compliance, appreciated the University management for fostering an environment that enables students to excel.

Mr. Mohammed presented a ₦200,000 cash prize, certificates, gadgets, and internet routers to Amina Bello and the University as part of the awards. He further disclosed plans by NUPEMCO to appoint Amina as an ambassador to inspire other students toward academic excellence.
Present at the ceremony were Amina’s parents, the Head of Department of Zoology, and other University officials, all of whom expressed pride in her achievement, describing it as a testament to UNIMAID’s commitment to nurturing exceptional scholars.
