Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has recorded a major institutional milestone after the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted full accreditation status to 29 of its academic programmes following the October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.

Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has recorded a major institutional milestone after the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted full accreditation status to 29 of its academic programmes following the October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.

According to a statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ademola Adesoji, the approval was communicated in an official letter signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, after a comprehensive review conducted across multiple faculties within the institution.

The statement confirmed that all programmes presented for accreditation received full approval without exception, covering a wide spectrum of disciplines across Administration and Management, Allied Health Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Computing, Education, Sciences, and Social Sciences.

Mr. Adesoji noted that the outcome reinforces UNIOSUN’s position as one of Nigeria’s steadily rising and academically stable universities, with growing recognition for quality assurance, infrastructure development, and academic consistency.

He further explained that the accreditation success reflects the strength of the university’s academic architecture, including qualified faculty personnel, modern learning facilities, research capacity, and a stable academic environment that supports teaching and innovation.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Odunayo Adebooye, described the achievement as the result of years of strategic planning and sustained investment in academic excellence.

He stated that the “100 per cent success recorded by the university” demonstrates the institution’s deliberate commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement across all academic units.

Prof. Adebooye added that the outcome positions UNIOSUN more firmly on the path toward global relevance, while acknowledging the contributions of staff, students, governing council, alumni, and the Osun State Government in achieving the milestone.

The university management affirmed that it will continue strengthening its academic systems and expanding capacity to sustain and improve on the current accreditation status in future assessments.
