UNIPORT Vice-Chancellor Leads Historic Tree-Planting Ceremony to Honour Top Graduating Students

The University of Port Harcourt's best graduating students for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions yesterday participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the institution's new Convocation Garden.

The honourees were Miss Loveth Onyeagubor of the Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology, who emerged as the overall best graduating student for the 2023/2024 session with a CGPA of 4.94, and Mr Daniel Oyibo of the Department of Finance and Banking, who emerged as the overall best graduating student for the 2024/2025 session with a CGPA of 4.82.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Owunari Abraham Georgewill, said the tree-planting initiative symbolizes growth, excellence, sustainability, and the enduring legacy of academic achievement. He noted that the trees would serve as lasting reminders of the students' outstanding contributions to the University.
