The programmes are open to candidates from multidisciplinary backgrounds, including Social Sciences, Engineering, Geosciences, Management Sciences, Finance, Law, Education, Military, and Agriculture.

General Admission Requirements
- Candidates must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
- Doctorate candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Petroleum and Energy Economics or an equivalent qualification.
- Master’s applicants must hold at least a Second Class Lower Division Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- PGD candidates must possess a minimum of Third Class Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (Lower Credit) or equivalent.
- All applicants must present an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.

Doctorate Degrees:
- Full-time: Minimum of 36 months
- Part-time: Minimum of 42 months

Master’s Degrees:
- Full-time: Minimum of 3 semesters, maximum of 6 semesters
- Part-time: Minimum of 6 semesters, maximum of 8 semesters

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):
- Full-time: Minimum of 2 semesters, maximum of 4 semesters
- Part-time: Minimum of 4 semesters, maximum of 6 semesters
