University of Abuja Opens 2025/2026 Admission into Postgraduate Programmes in Energy Economics

The University of Abuja, through its Centre for Petroleum and Energy Resource Economics (CPERE), has announced the commencement of admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The programmes are open to candidates from multidisciplinary backgrounds, including Social Sciences, Engineering, Geosciences, Management Sciences, Finance, Law, Education, Military, and Agriculture.

General Admission Requirements

1. Candidates must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
2. Doctorate candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Petroleum and Energy Economics or an equivalent qualification.
3. Master’s applicants must hold at least a Second Class Lower Division Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
4. PGD candidates must possess a minimum of Third Class Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (Lower Credit) or equivalent.
5. All applicants must present an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.

Course Duration

• Doctorate Degrees:

  • Full-time: Minimum of 36 months
  • Part-time: Minimum of 42 months

• Master’s Degrees:

  • Full-time: Minimum of 3 semesters, maximum of 6 semesters
  • Part-time: Minimum of 6 semesters, maximum of 8 semesters

• Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):

  • Full-time: Minimum of 2 semesters, maximum of 4 semesters
  • Part-time: Minimum of 4 semesters, maximum of 6 semesters
