University of Africa Explores Partnership with Ebedebiri Starch Company

The University of Africa (UAT) has initiated a collaborative effort with Ebedebiri Starch Company Limited (ESCL), seeking to enhance agricultural education and research.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma led a delegation to ESCL's Cassava Processing Plant in Ebedebiri, Sagbama Local Government Area. He expressed the university's interest in partnering with ESCL to enhance laboratory services, machinery, and practical placement for UAT students.

Prof. Ayakoroma described the visit as "long overdue" and emphasized the potential benefits of collaboration. ESCL's Finance Manager, Mr. Sam Onwu, welcomed the proposal, pending approval from the Managing Director. He anticipated a fruitful working relationship with UAT.

The UAT delegation included Grig. Gen MJ Abel (Rtd), Director of Security Services; Dr. Torunana Augustine, HoD Crop, Soil and Pest Management; Mrs. Aforka Faith, Acting PRO; Mr. Augustine Matthew, Agric Faculty; and other staff members.
