University of Maiduguri Set for 25th Convocation and Golden Jubilee Celebration

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is gearing up for its 25th Combined Convocation and 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary, scheduled to take place on November 28 and 29, 2025.

The event will honor 20,164 graduates, including 66 PhD holders, 1,020 Master's degree recipients, and 13,624 Bachelor's degree holders, with 205 of them achieving First Class honors.

The convocation ceremony will be a historic milestone, marking five decades of academic excellence and resilience despite insurgency, economic challenges, and the global pandemic. UNIMAID has made significant strides in academic reforms, digital transformation, and infrastructure development, including the renovation of 32 lecture theatres and the establishment of the UNDP-UNIMAID UNIPod Innovation Hub.

The event will also feature the recognition of distinguished Nigerians and the conferment of Professor Emeritus titles on eminent scholars. The University has launched the UNIMAID Endowment Fund to support research, innovation, and scholarships, with support from the Borno State Government and the North-East Governors' Forum.
