The management of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has confirmed that a severe rainstorm that swept across the Nsukka Campus on Friday afternoon caused significant damage to university infrastructure.

According to the university, the storm affected several parts of the campus, with the most severe impact recorded at Awolowo and Isa Kaita Hostels, where sections of roofing were blown off. The incident exposed parts of student residential buildings to harsh weather conditions and disrupted normal hostel operations.

The storm also led to the uprooting of several trees, while large branches fell across some internal roads, temporarily obstructing movement within parts of the campus.
