Yabatech Appoints New Acting Registrar

Dr. Emmanuel Akinwale has been appointed as the new acting Registrar of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) by the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman. The appointment, effective from Friday, January 26, 2024, was made in the absence of the Governing Council.

Dr. Akinwale, who previously served as the Head of Department of Council Affairs in the Registry Unit of the College, will hold the acting position until a substantive Registrar is appointed by the Federal Government.

With a background in Political Science, Dr. Akinwale holds a B.A, MSc, and PhD in the field. He has contributed significantly to the college's history during his 43 years of service, including serving as the first Secretary to the Committee of Federal Rectors in Nigeria from June 1992 to December 1993.

His achievements also include being part of the secretarial team for the college's book, "Yaba College of Technology at 40," which earned him commendation from the College Governing Council. Throughout his tenure, he has received 17 commendation letters from the management of Yabatech.
