Yobe State University Students' Union Government Issues Statement on Suspension of Student Programs

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Yobe State University has released a statement addressing the suspension of student programs following the tragic incident on Uniform Day, August 15, 2024.

The SUG has been engaging with the university management, including meetings with the Registrar, Vice-Chancellor, and other principal officers, to advocate for the lifting of the suspension. Initially, the Vice-Chancellor expressed willingness to lift the suspension on selected programs, but a final decision was made to maintain the total suspension due to proposed security concerns.

The SUG understands the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause and assures students that they remain committed to continuing dialogue with the management to find a solution for the safe resumption of student activities.
