YSU Outgoing SUG President Achieves Rare Academic Feat with First-Class Degree in Geology

In a remarkable display of balanced leadership and academic excellence, the outgoing Students' Union Government (SUG) President of Yobe State University (YSU), Yunusa Barde Abdullahi, has graduated with a First-Class Honours in B.Sc. Geology.

Abdullahi’s achievement has sparked widespread celebration within the university community, challenging the long-standing stereotype that active student unionism often comes at the expense of academic performance.

Throughout his tenure as the 2024/2025 SUG President, Abdullahi was at the forefront of student advocacy and campus administration. Reflecting on the rigorous journey of managing the demands of the student body while maintaining a top-tier GPA in a demanding science field.
