Zazzau Emirate confirms plan to establish female-only university in Kaduna

The Zazzau Emirate, formerly known as Zaria Emirate, has confirmed on its X handle plan to establish a female-only university in Kaduna.

The Emirate disclosed this when the members of the Planning and Implementation Committee of the proposed university, known as Tazkiya University, Kaduna, led by the Proprietor who is also the Imam of National Mosque, Abuja, Professor Ibrahim Maqari Sa'eed, briefed the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, about the university in his palace.

According to the report, the university, which will be purely for women, has a proposed site in Kaduna, while the take-off site will be in Zaria.

This will be the first time in the history of Nigeria that a university that is solely for a particular gender will be established and it was gathered that there is the possibility that all the lecturers in the institution will be females.

According to the Emirate: "Members of the Planning and Implementation Committee of the newly established Taskiya University, Kaduna, led by the proprietor of the University and Imam of National Mosque, Abuja Professor Ibrahim Maqari Sa'eed, this afternoon briefed the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on the establishment of the university.

"The university, which will be purely for women, has a proposed site in Kaduna, while the take-off site will be in Zaria."

The proprietor of the proposed university is one of those who were given licences to operate a private university recently.
