The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has issued a strong public warning regarding the emergence of fraudulent social media accounts that are actively impersonating the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Eunice Omonzejie, to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

AAU Cautions Public Against Fake Social Media Accounts Impersonating Vice-Chancellor

The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has issued a strong warning to the public over the activities of fraudulent social media accounts impersonating the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Eunice Omonzejie, with the intent to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

In an official statement signed by Otunba Mike Aladenika, Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, the University confirmed the discovery of two fake accounts currently in circulation:

  • A Facebook account created using the Vice-Chancellor’s name.

  • A WhatsApp account linked to the phone number 0702 517 2261.

The University strongly advised members of the public to disregard any messages, requests, or solicitations emanating from these fraudulent accounts. It emphasized that all official communications from AAU and its principal officers are issued solely through verified and approved channels.

The statement further urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious online activities claiming affiliation with the University, to help curb the spread of scams and misinformation.
