The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has assured students that the ongoing industrial action by the institution's Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is receiving the attention of the Ondo State Government and is expected to be resolved soon.
The assurance came in response to a reported 72-hour ultimatum issued by the Students' Union leadership to the state government, demanding an end to the strike.
In a statement issued by the University's Deputy Registrar for Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr. Sola Imoru, the Management said the industrial action is being addressed through a special intervention fund approved by the Ondo State Government, adding that the funds are currently being processed for release.
According to the University, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who is the Visitor to the institution, has already approved the intervention fund to enable the University meet its financial obligations.
The Management noted that the development had been communicated to the leadership of the Students' Union, describing the ultimatum as unnecessary in view of the ongoing efforts to resolve the issues.

It appealed to students to remain calm and exercise patience while the payment process initiated by the state government is being concluded.
The University also advised the Students' Union leadership to seek clarification from Management before making public statements on issues affecting the institution, stressing that dialogue remains the most effective means of resolving matters of mutual concern.
AAUA reaffirmed its commitment to good university governance, transparency, and sustained engagement with all stakeholders as efforts continue to bring the strike to an end.
